With stealth and long-distance combat being the focus of Sniper Elite III, competitive multiplayer maps will consist of up to twelve members per game room. Team and solo modes seem to be the contemporary gameplay styles, with “dedicated ‘No Cross’ maps,” “Distance King complementing online play. Additionally, 2-player co-op will see an Overwatch mode that looks to be one player act as a spotter, while the other provides on-the-ground combat. Survival mode looks to be you and your online buddy fending off waves of oncoming forces.

As someone who appreciates single player campaigns in third-person shooters, it’s great to see Sniper Elite III support a plethora of different options when it comes to multiplayer. It will be interesting to see how many maps and weapons will be supported at launch, but it appears as though all these modes will come standard, Day 1.

Sniper Elite III is coming to PC worldwide on June 27th, and on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on July 1st here in North America.
