Some Changes Coming To PlayStation Plus

Game Informer is reporting that a couple of changes are coming to your PlayStation Plus service. Don’t worry, it’s mostly good news.

Firstly, each Sony platform (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Vita) will receive two titles every month. I know this is business as usual for PS3 & Vita owners. Bu the PS4 has been getting one game a month, so this is great news. This starts in June with the PS4 getting both Trine 2: The Complete Story & Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate.

Secondly, starting in July, the free PlayStation Plus games will all be available from the first Tuesday of that month to the following Tuesday of the next month. You won’t have to wait til later in the month to download a particular title, but you might have a slightly shorter window to download, so be sure you get right on that.

The one slightly bad bit of news is that some titles that have been free on PlayStation Plus for awhile will be phased out soon. So, if you own a Vita and haven’t downloaded Uncharted: Golden Abyss or Gravity Rush, you might want download them ASAP.

At the end of the day, it’s more free games sooner, and that’s always good. I’m definitely excited to try out Trine 2, as that’s long been on my list of games I mean to get around to, but never have for some reason.

What do you think, GameSided readers? Excited about these changes? Do you even need to actually buy games for your PlayStation 4 anymore? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
