Battlefield Hardline Confirmed With Official EA Website

facebooktwitterreddit

It had been rumored earlier in the day, but now EA Games has confirmed it with an official websiteBattlefield Hardline will be the next Battlefield game in the series, with more official information coming at E3 2014 in June. It had been rumored to be developed by Visceral Games.

The above promotional image helps to confirm the rumors that have been reported so far. Battlefield Hardline looks to play more as a cops-and-robbers type of game (more specifically, “Thieves” and “SWAT”), very much reminding players of the FPS stylings of Payday and Payday 2. Some of the rumored classes/loadouts include Enforcer, Mastermind, Technician, and Professional, indicating gameplay styles for the “robbers” side of things.

With a variety of weapons, items, awards and vehicles at the ready, it looks like Battlefield Hardline will provide players with a combat-oriented view into the criminal and law aspects of robbery. We can hypothesize all we like, but we’re less than two weeks away from E3 (!!); I’m sure that EA will use this title as an anchor for their media briefing and will let us know a lot more about the project.

Battlefield Hardline is rumored to launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year. Yes, EA are still shackling developers to last-gen consoles. Expect it for at least another year, unfortunately.
