Metro Redux Officially Announced, Trailer Revealed

facebooktwitterreddit

It was leaked earlier in the year, and Deep Silver has since confirmed it, but now there’s an official announcement. Metro Redux will be coming this summer to PC, PS4 and Xbox One as a digital download for $24.99 each, or as a double pack for $50. Both titles are set to operate at 60 FPS, with the PS4 version confirmed to run at a 1080p resolution. They will both also feature all DLC from their Season Passes.

New to Metro Redux for both titles, besides upgrades to graphics and AI, include unique modes. Metro: Last Light will see you with more powerful skills and resources in “Spartan” mode, while Metro 2033  will see a “Survival” mode, having you see fewer resources, longer reload times and crueler, difficult enemy AI.

As someone who has been holding off on both Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033, it is great to see patience rewarded with dedicated 60 FPS and a much higher resolution on consoles with Metro Redux. While there may be discrepancies between the Xbox One and PS4 versions, it’s great to see Deep Silver offer options for those who want to pick up just one copy as well as those who want to pick up both.

We’ll be on the lookout for more information about Metro Redux, including a definite release date, as it becomes available. Hopefully we can see a bit of it in action at E3 2014 coming up this June. For now, check out the announcement trailer above.
