Rift Improves Ascend-A-Friend Referral Program

Let’s set up a hypothetical scenario. Suppose you’re a regular player of a long-running MMO who would like to have more of your real life friends join you. But since you’re only human, you’d like to get something out of it for yourself besides just some in-game companionship.

Rift has had a referral program called Ascend-a-Friend for a while, but it’s just been beefed up with more rewards, and you don’t even have to leave the game to send out requests.

Here’s how it works: you click on the social icon in Rift to send Ascend-a-Friend requests by email, Twitter or Facebook. If your buddies accept and purchase any Credits or redeem game cards, you get Referral Coins to spend in the in-game store.

What can you buy with those? Well, far more than you can imagine. Just kidding. Referral Coins can get you capes, pets, costumes, supply crates, mounts and more.

So don’t feel bad about feeling self-centered. Send out some requests and maybe you’ll get some free loot. There are worse deals than that.
