E3 2014: Microsoft Press Conference Time Released

facebooktwitterreddit

Not leaving Nintendo as the only console-creator with a scheduled E3 conference time, Microsoft has announced, through the Xbox Wire, that their press conference will commence on Monday, June 9th at 9:30 AM PT (12:30 PM ET). Titled “Xbox: Game On,” it will be streamed live starting at 9 AM PT that same day on Xbox.com, Xbox Live and on Windows Phones around the world. Microsoft are likely the first games company to host their conference that day.

Keeping to an earlier promise, the title of the Microsoft press conference backs up the notion that it will be about the video games this year. It’s a great approach, one likely held and led by new head of the Xbox division, Phil Spencer. With so many announced titles from last year yet to be released on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 (including D4, Below, Project Spark, Quantum Break and others), there’s a better opportunity to showcase what makes these games special closer to expected release dates. I’d love to see how Sunset Overdrive works, outside of “cutesy” marketing on Twitter.

GameSided will be here during all E3 2014 press conferences to provide breaking news, analysis and opinions throughout the festivities.
