The Last Of Us: Grounded DLC Brings New SP, Multiplayer Challenges

The PlayStation Blog has announced that The Last of Us will be coming out with a new DLC pack soon, titled, “Grounded.” It comes with new content for both single and multiplayer modes.

Grounded Mode will be heading for the single player campaign as a new difficulty option. The AI has been dialed up to 11, hoping to prove a tough challenge for even the most seasoned of single player campaign adventurers. It costs $4.99 as a standalone option, meaning you don’t have to pick up the Season Pass to enjoy an extra challenge.

Grounded DLC also comes with the Reclaimed Territories Map Pack, featuring Wharf, Capitol, Coal Mine and Water Tower. Developers of The Last of Us seemed to be reutilizing familiar single player arenas and repurposing them for multiplayer action. The map pack runs non-Season-Pass owners $9.99.

Additionally, the new DLC for The Last of Us will feature bonus weapon and skills bundles, running from $3.99-$5.99 if you don’t own the Season Pass. Something, however, that one everyone gets for free is a Full-Auto rifle.

There is no release date yet announced for this third and final slate of The Last of Us DLC, although it does come with a timer on the Season Pass offer. Until the PSN update of the week of May 13th, you can still pick up a Season Pass for $19.99 to acquire this and all previous DLC bundles. After that, the offer disappears and you’re left with fairly expensive DLC options or waiting to pick up The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 (which comes with some of the important DLC included).
