DualShock 4 Light Bar Will be Able to be Turned Off

PlayStation 4 players will soon be able to turn off the distracting light bar found at the front of the DualShock 4 controller, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed.

The news was revealed via Geoff Keighley who asked Yoshida about the option which will come in a future firmware system update.

The ability to turn off the light bar should be a welcomed update for players, especially those who don’t own a PS Camera and have no need for the light bar. The option to turn the light off should also help improve the DS4’s poor battery life.

There is no timetable for when this update should be available, but with a major firmware update coming to the system in April, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it come then.
