The Witcher 3 Delayed Until Next Year

That’s a shame. According to Kotaku, CD Projekt RED has released a statement, revealing that The Witcher 3 will not be appearing on PC or consoles until February, 2015.

"We recently reexamined what we had achieved thus far, and faced a choice about the game’s final release date. The decision we made was difficult, thoroughly considered, and ultimately clear and obvious. We could have released the game towards the end of this year as we had initially planned. Yet we concluded that a few additional months will let us achieve the quality that will satisfy us, the quality gamers expect from us. Consequently, we have set the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for February 2015."

There wasn’t an official release window slated for The Witcher 3, but the speculation was that the game would be coming out by the end of the year. This means that future projects from the developer, including Cyberpunk 2077, may end up being delayed as well. Hopefully, that is not the case.

Who know exactly why the game was delayed, but perhaps, with the extra time allotted, the console optimization for both the PS4 and Xbox One would be at near perfection. The Witcher 3, and previous titles, are kings when it comes to being a graphical powerhouse. The resolution outputs between the PC and consoles will likely be a point of discussion, even if the consoles are equal in comparison.

The Witcher 3 will be coming out February, 2015 for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
