Naughty Dog Releases Official Statement Regarding Amy Hennig’s Departure

While Amy Hennig is still not returning to Naughty Dog after leaving her post as creative director and writer earlier this week, the exact pretenses have been under scrutiny. In an attempt to nip any false rumors in the bud, Naughty Dog has released a statement on the matter.

"Earlier this week we had to confirm the regrettable news that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog.  She will be missed and, as we stated before, we appreciate the significant contributions that she has made to Naughty Dog and the industry in general.  We wish her the best. However, we feel it necessary to clear up a very important point that was unprofessionally misreported when the story broke.  Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were NOT involved in what transpired.  It was very upsetting to us that dozens of stories were run, linking back to the same hurtful accusations in the original report.  As co-presidents of Naughty Dog, we are responsible for all studio affairs."

This statement is in contrast to what the sources to IGN have told them, stating that Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann helped to force Amy out and are taking over creative control of the future of the Uncharted franchise. While it seems like it should be the last big public statement on these trangressions from Naughty Dog, the whole thing doesn’t add up.

We’ll be on the lookout for rumors and statements from either party going forward. What a wierd couple of weeks for things related to Sony, especially today.
