Microsoft has begun rolling out a major Xbox One system update that addresses some of the main complaints from system owners.

The main addition is the new Party Chat mode, and new multiplayer functionality, which should be handy for the launch of Titanfall next week.

Other updates include Twitch streaming support (although the Twitch app itself doesn’t launch until next week), Dolby Digital optical output, 50hz mode, and other tweaks that should make it easier to use the Xbox One with your TV, speakers, and other various bits and bobs.

Microsoft also teased that external storage would be coming in a future update, alongside more improvements to friends notifications.

Uncharted series creative director and writer Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog after 10 years with the developer, IGN reports.

Citing numerous “trusted sources” close to Naughty Dog, IGN reports that Hennig was writing and leading the development of the next instalment of the Uncharted series for PlayStation 4 before her final day with the developer on March 3. According to IGN, sources claim the creative director was “forced out” of the company.

A new software development kit from Twitch lets mobile game developers build streaming directly into their apps.

As revealed to CVG in January, Twitch’s iOS and Android SDK allows smartphones to enable capturing and broadcasting directly to Twitch.

The SDK, released on Wednesday, also gives users the option to broadcast video of themselves via their mobile’s front camera and audio commentary from internal or external microphones.
