The Gag Quartet Releases Music Video Tribute To 8-bit Video Games

The Gag Quartet, responsible for the wildly-popular rock music video inspired by oversaturated memes back in 2011, has released a new music video titled, “8-bit Anthem.” This time, however, they manage to provide a wholly-welcome video while tastefully turning songs from classic video games into a rock medley worthy of listening.

A great deal of the old school greats are thrown into this video by The Gag Quartet. Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Pacman, Pokemon, Mega Man, Contra, Sonic the Hedgehog, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Space Invaders and Tetris all get a modernized take on their iconic tracks. The video itself even features an animated adventure of a protagonist surviving through all the preceeding games, invoking and banking on that sweet nostalgia we all crave.

The instrumentation is catchy and skilled enough to warrant at least one viewing. You can check out the full music video for 8-bit Anthem below. You can also buy the song on iTunes here for $0.99, if you desire.
