Ryse Challenge Editor Cancelled

The challenge editor planned for inclusion with Ryse: Son of Rome that was expected to come to SmartGlass won’t be coming at all. According to Polygon, Microsoft has informed them that planned addition for the game’s co-op gladiator mode will no longer be developed.

“After careful consideration, we have decided to cease development on Ryse: Son of Rome challenge editor and focus on improving and expanding fans’ experience with the game through both free content updates and purchased add-on packs,” the statement read. “We look forward to sharing more details soon.”

Ryse has seen mediocre review scores since it’s release alongside the Xbox One which is apparently part of the reason for the add-on’s scrapping.

Mike’s Musings: It’s not really all that surprising to find that the add-on has been scrapped. There has been no mention of the feature since the game launched, and no one has really been asking any questions about it. Might as well cut the losses of something that likely wouldn’t have been utilized by many.
