Watch Dogs Delayed On Wii U. For Real, This Time.

Really, like for ultra-real, Watch Dogs is now officially delayed further on the Wii U. Kotaku reported the news after hearing about it during Ubisoft’s earnings call earlier today. This is after speculation that the game was to be cancelled entirely for the Wii U platform some weeks ago after pre-orders were accidentally cancelled in the US and Italy.

Watch Dogs is scheduled to release between April-June 2014 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Originally it had planned to be a launch title for the PS4 and the Xbox One, however it was pushed back just weeks before either console was to be released. It suffered the cruel fate before Driveclub shortly followed it, being pushed to an unknown early 2014 release window. The Watch Dogs version on the Wii U will come after the initial release window for the other consoles.

Delaying a game is always hard, especially when a game has been in development for many years. However, if Watch Dogs can truly encapsulate the wonder and awe it generated when first revealed at E3 2012, give it as much time as needed. Cut/crunched content can be a nightmare, especially if you are creating a game that features guns in an online atmosphere.
