Morning DLC: Video Games News And Rumors 2/9/14

skylanders-swap-force

Skylanders is getting another iteration this year, and it will be headed up by the series’ original creators. Developer Toys for Bob is taking the helm again, after Vicarious Visions took the lead for the most recent one, Skylanders Swap Force. This will mark the third (of four) Skylanders games from Toys for Bob, after it put out the original and then Skylanders Giants.

An alternating release schedule would set up Skylanders games for the foreseeable future–though Vicarious Visions’ debut effort with Swap Force is generally the best reviewed of the series.

Shacknews

Fans of Jack Carver, ridiculous draw distances and stalking foes real style, rejoice! Ubisoft has recently announced that the fps classic Far Cry will be released in the US on February 11th.

This news follows a long drought of info on the title, with Ubisoft mentioning the game’s existence way back in June, and then promptly stopped talking about the game. Whether or not Far Cry got lost in the white noise of the next gen remains a mystery, but players of this long over due fps favorite will finally see release on both PSN and XBLA, but only for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Yesterday Riot released more limited-edition Winter Games skins in League of Legends; these skins are released this time to honor the Sochi Olympics. Fiddlesticks, Anivia, Jax, Amumu, Corki, Twitch, Kassasin and Veigar will all have their Olympic red, blue and whites available from February 7 through February 23.

Of all the skins, only Ice Toboggan Corki is priced above 520 RP, being Legendary-status and marked at 1820 RP.
