Nintendo Planning Mobile App(s)

Despite denying any such thing earlier this week, Nintendo confirmed during an investor briefing on Wednesday night its plans to attempt to engage more users by way of a smartphone app. Company President Satoru Iwata revealed some of the details to investors during the conference.

Iwata said that the company won’t be porting its games over to smartphones, but that Nintendo realizes that in order to properly engage with your audience, what you offer has to be fun. That leads many, including us, to believe that some form of mini games will be coming to mobile devices in the near future. He also suggested that Nintendo Network IDs will play a part in the company’s mobile presence.

Overall details regarding how this plan will work for users weren’t given, but we can certainly expect to hear something within the coming weeks and/or months.
