Sly Cooper Movie Coming To Theaters In 2016

It was teased about for some time, but now it looks to be all but official. A Sly Cooper movie is coming to theaters in 2016, with a teaser trailer released earlier today.

From what we can see, the old crew is back. Sly, Bentley and Murray are at it again, and this time we get to learn more about the origin stories of Sly Cooper and his family.

An official description of the movie:

"Sly Cooper is a kinetic and comedic heist film that tells the story of Sly Cooper, an orphaned raccoon thief, along with his childhood friends and partners in crime, Bentley Turtle and Murray Hippo. In the film, Sly learns of his birth family’s secret legacy; that he comes from a long line of talented and international thieves. Endowed with this knowledge, Sly and his friends are catapulted into a global adventure as they race to reassemble pieces of an ancient book holding The Cooper Clan’s family secrets before it can fall into the hands of Clockwerk – an evil Russian metallic owl bent on ending the Cooper family line. From romantic Parisian backdrops to the lush mountains of China, gritty film noir meets bright, colorful graphic novels in this origin story of the world’s greatest thief-turned-hero."

The timing may seem a bit off. It’s been a few years since the last Sly Cooper game (Sly Cooper 2 was released about 10 years ago), and now we’re still about 2 years away from a proper Sly Cooper movie. Rainmaker and Blockade Entertainment have a daunting task ahead of them; they have to get this right to appease old fans and entice new ones.

The Sly Cooper movie looks to dazzle you with its brains, its muscle and its looks when it comes out in 2016. Check out the teaser trailer below.
