The Oculus Rift was one of the big stories from this year’s CES, and with good reason. The latest headset has been drawing rave reviews for the way it has eliminated motion sickness and blurring, raising the very real possibility that virtual reality is going to be a force in gaming sooner than many people would have envisioned.

That means more video games are going to be climbing on the Oculus Rift bandwagon, and “Starpoint Gemini 2” by developer Little Green Men Games and publisher Iceberg Interactive is definitely on board. The space sim/RPG hybrid is touting dynamic, real time 3D space combat with over 70 upgradeable ships to pilot. Now players will be able to fly them in VR thanks to Oculus Rift.

“Even from our short time spent with Oculus Rift, we’re certain it’s a breakthrough in the making, bringing a whole new perspective on games in general,” Mario Mihokovic, CEO of Little Green Men Games, said in a press release. “We’re thrilled for the ability to become a part of the VR revolution early on and can’t wait to see what we can do with it and what other developers will think of too.”

“Starpoint Gemini 2” is currently available in alpha form through Steam ‘s Early Acess program, and the dev team is looking for feedback. The current version of the game costs $22.99 and comes with a full version of its predecessor, “Starpoint Gemini I.”
