Microsoft has released new Ryse DLC in the form of free and paid add-ons for the Xbox One exclusive.

A free update to co-operative multiplayer mode Gladiator includes two new level events, while the Colosseum Pack introduces two combat arenas and two character skins, all of which are detailed below and shown off in a new trailer.

The Colosseum Pack is priced at $3.99 standalone, or available as part of the Ryse season pass. Microsoft plans to release four Ryse DLC packs for Gladiator mode.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum has begun collecting video games for its permanent collection as part of an ongoing commitment to study and preserve such games as an artistic medium.

The museum announced this week that it acquired the 2009 game “Flower” by Jenova Chen and Kellee Santiago and the 2010 game “Halo 2600″ by Ed Fries.

Members of the UK games industry have released a Christmas single for GamesAid.

The Games On Song industry choir is made up of people responsible for games such as Tomb Raider, Assassin’s Creed and Sonic the Hedgehog.

The choir’s latest project is a recording of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’.

Produced by video game composer Richard Jacques, any money raised will be donated to GamesAid, which supports smaller charities working with disadvantaged and disabled children and young people.
