Battlefield 4 Features on Dualshock 4

One of the most unique aspects of Sony’s PlayStation 4 is its new Dualshock 4 controller. The controller features a touchpad in the top center, and can also be used with the PS Camera in the same way the PS Move was used on the PlayStation 3.

Of course, the biggest question is just how will game developers utilize this new feature to the DS 4 controller, and thanks to DICE’s Lars Gustavsson, we now have, at least, one answer to that question.

The creative director behind Battlefield 4 recently talked to Sony’s Playstation blog about the unique features that the DS 4 controller will have when playing the game. Gustavsson reveals that the controller can be used to lean around corners by simply moving the controller instead of hitting a button. He also notes that the “gyro feature” can be used to look around while in vehicles, and to fly a helicopter which will give players an ability to scan the map in a way that hasn’t been done before in a Battlefield title.

Other topics touched on in the above video are tablet uses, and the new “Commander” game mode.
