Hearthstone Open Beta, iPhone and Android Versions Announced

The closed beta free-to-play digital collectible card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has been announced live at Blizzcon to hit open beta starting next month. Additionally, the game will be making its way to iPhones and Android phones sometime mid-2014.

This will come to be a huge relief for fans who have been waiting to get in for the past few months. Hearthstone beta keys have been sold on eBay for upwards of $200 at the height of their scarcity which, when you think about the fact that the game will eventually be released for free, speaks volumes about just how great this game is to the fans of this genre.

The move to include more mobile devices beyond the iPad was a smart one. The game is not very graphics intensive, but instead gameplay and engine-driven within the realm and lore of the Warcraft series. Being able to play it on the commute to and from work while maintaining the same level of play that is on home computers should make even the hardcore fans happy.

Heartstone: Heroes of Warcraft, knowing that open beta will begin in December/January, will likely be released in its completed entirety in early 2014.
