Riot Games president Marc Merrill has confirmed his Twitter account was hacked and explained that images of a “League of Legends” spin-off title released by the hacker are for one of many prototypes the studio has worked on in the past.
“Yup, someone got onto my Twitter account,” Merrill Tweeted on October 13. “Yup, someone shared some old screens from one of the many prototypes we’ve experimented with.”
The hacker, identifying himself as Jason, asked for followers to retweet messages he posted from Merrill’s account in exchange for sensitive images and information linked to the company’s projects.
Amazon has released a list of its best-selling products as part of its fifteenth birthday celebrations, revealing that “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2″ is the retailer’s highest selling game of all time.
Though sales figures at the retailer have not been revealed, “Modern Warfare 2″ tops Amazon’s all-time video games chart, followed by “Call of Duty: Black Ops” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.”
“Grand Theft Auto 5″ enters in at number 4 despite only having been on sale for a month, with “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ rounding out the top 5.
“Assassins Creed” director, Ashraf Ismail, has said he would love to take the series to Egypt. Although he didn’t confirm it for the setting of the next installment of the game, he did say “I would love to explore Egypt as a setting for this game.”
The franchise is known for being set in various parts of the world, as well as progressing further to the present day. “AC:IV Black Flag” however is the first game which is set before a previous title. This offers the possibility for the franchise to explore many different settings and periods of time to explore.
