10. Assassin’s Creed 2

Before Ubisoft turned Assassin’s Creed into a yearly franchise that has become watered down and, in some cases, boring, they were busy turning the game from a new, up-and-coming IP into a powerhouse for the current generation.

And after the success of the first Assassin’s Creed in 2007, Ubisoft hit one out of the park with the sequel to the best seller.

The Italian environment was breathtaking, the assassinations looked beautiful — well, as beautiful as an assassination can look –, and players were pulled into the game due to a compelling story.

Sadly, the series has taken a downward turn since AC 2 as it’s become a yearly franchise instead of a bi-yearly like it was in the early going. But if you want to remember the good days of the franchise, just load up this fantastic game.
