Rayman Legends Also Coming To PC

Rayman Legends has been in development for a long time. It was to be released earlier this year as a Wii U exclusive, however console sales and poor ZombiU performance dictated a multiplatform release. Today, however, Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends will also receive a PC release (in addition to a PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U), concurrent with the projected September 3rd North American release.

Eurogamer was one of the first to share the info, noting the extra development time has provided a much better gameplay experience in their hands-on preview of Rayman Legends. There are concerns for how the GamePad gameplay features of the Wii U will transfer to the other platforms, but with the capabilities of a mouse and keyboard hopefully this won’t be much of a problem for the PC release.

However, Ubisoft does have a history of problems in sticking to their announced PC release dates in the past. Assassin’s Creed’s PC release was delayed two months before it release date. The same thing has happened with Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Splinter Cell Conviction, From Dust and H.A.W.X 2, among others (thanks to NeoGAF for finding that out). But, since the announcement comes within 6 weeks of its projected launch date, hopefully that won’t be the issue this time round for Rayman Legends.
